In partnership with EmpowerEd Collective, BCAPOP is proud to present this innovative, culturally relevant workshop designed to deepen understanding and support meaningful decolonization efforts within organizations.

About Two Eyed Seeing

Current approaches to supporting trauma and Indigenous wellness prioritize a Western framework. Understanding that research is only now starting to validate what has been known in Indigenous communities since time immemorial: that culture is healing. Two Eyed Seeing aims to equip participants with the understanding and tools necessary to plan for and embed a culturally driven approach to wellness that upholds ancestral laws and capitalizes on the rich depth of cultural knowledge within the local community.

Anna Allan and Ed Ross felt a responsibility to develop Two Eyed Seeing: A Neurodecolonized Approach to Supporting Indigenous Wellness as means to contextualize the evidence-based ways that ancestral knowledge mitigates the impacts of historical and ongoing colonial harms. Sharing from the ethical space between Western and traditional approaches to care, this learning invites participants to envision a neurosequential, culturally rooted approach to wellness programming.
