In collaboration with Perinatal Services BC, join us for this insightful session where you will explore the following learning objectives: 

  1. Define misinformation and disinformation and discuss its impact on the health of the perinatal population
  2. Explore some of the ways that inaccurate health information spreads online information
  3. Learn and apply tools to assess the reliability of online health information
  4. Build critical thinking skills for mindful digital engagement


Presenter: Misty Wasyluk, RM, MPH

Misty Wasyluk (she/her) joined the Perinatal Services BC team in 2025 as the Provincial Lead for Public Health and Primary Care where she has the privilege and honor of working to help improve health outcomes for the perinatal population. Misty is also a non-practicing midwife and mother of two fabulous teenagers. Misty works from the traditional, unceded and ancestral territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations. 




Presenter: Lana Voracek, RN, MPH

Lana Voracek (she/her) is a Knowledge Translation Coordinator at Perinatal Services BC, where she has the opportunity to apply her passion for bringing evidence into action and supporting access to understandable and reliable health information for the perinatal population. Before joining the PSBC team, Lana worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse and completed her Master of Public Health at the University of British Columbia. Lana works on the traditional, unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
